Graphite gaskets are used for applications requiring a very high temperature range of 450 - 500 degrees Celcius.

Graphite sheets are available in many different types. The graphite sheets used include those with greater than 98% purity, greater than 99.85% purity and those with a non-stick coating.

The sealing effect of graphite gaskets mainly depends of the type of steel utilised. The following types of steel layers are generally used:
