Following the prohibition on the use of asbestos, research was undertaken into discovering viable substitute asbestos fibres.

Today, sealing materials are manufactured from a variety of materials including, among others, cellulose, Aramid, glass and carbon.

Gaskets comprised of these materials are typically used in operations where the relevant temperature range is between 100 - 200 degrees Celsius.
